Biography

Matthew Hall

My investment ideas tend to focus on companies where I believe the market is underappreciating the medium-term earnings potential of the business and/or the quality of its operations. Over time these factors will become apparent, and the market will place a higher value on the company as a result. In this respect I am not constrained to any particular investment style, although I tend to steer clear of extremely low quality companies, companies which are under structural pressure, or companies which generate very little cash flow.

I seem to spend a lot of my spare time at the moment renovating my house; it’s an old house, so the list of jobs seems to increase quicker than I can cross them off. I enjoy football, and play 11-a-side/5-a-side when I can, although a recent broken leg has forced me to search for less perilous sports. I also dabble in a number of other pastimes such as chess/golf and rock climbing.
